I bought this as a gift and the recipient loved it! (It WAS on her wish list, though :)) I do not know any details about this item personally.
I bought this book for college level english class. More specifically LEAR. Young Jean Lee is a brilliant playwrite, and anyone who reads this book is sure to enjoy it.
A good way of approaching certain social concepts, but just not entertaining.
great
Young Jean Lee's writing is totally unexpected, thought-provoking, hilarious, and tricky ... it maintains a weird balance of pleasure and discomfort. It's smart, but also open in a way that experimental theater often isn't... she lets herself be as vulnerable as she asks her readers to be in thinking about difficult subjects. As a former English prof, I have to say that she's one of my favorite authors, along with Beckett, Melville, Nabokov, D.F. Wallace, etc. I keep going back to re-read her plays and I'm surprised every time.
