I’ve always been interested with Origami but I don’t have the patience to learn this paper folding art. I am now trying again to learn and that’s why I decided to get this book. I loved how the author started with a brief history of origami in the first part of the book. And I never knew that are so many different origami technique. It must be a joy to learn all of them, but for now I would be happy to learn to fold something more than just a boat! But what I want and I think missing from this book are some pictures. I think it will be better to see the different folds that are being discussed if there are some corresponding pictures of it. It would be easier to follow if you can check how it should look so you will have something to compare to if what you’re doing is right or wrong.
It is indeed a very informative book about Origami. I was surprised with how the book describes the history of Origami as an art and how important it is. The instructions are clear and concise that's why it's so easy to follow. Any beginner would definitely love this book. Paper folding is such a fun activity and it can be done with kids and adult. I highly recommend this to all. This book explains in detail the various forms of origami. You'll like to learn a few and show it off your friends. I also find it relaxing and calming. It will test your patience too! Thanks so much Sandra for creating this wonderful book!
I really liked this book. I got it thinking it would be a good project book to do with my kids, now knowing much about Origami myself. I found the the project a bit too complicated for my small children, but this is not the book's fault at all, just my assumption of how easy would be folding paper. I read the book and found that the explanations were really good and the projects they have are listed from the beginner level to the more skilled. Overall I thought the book was very good and I recommend for those learning about origami.
This book is a must for anyone who loves Japan or Japanese culture. This book explains in detail the various forms of origami such as “traditionalâ€, “modernâ€, “actionâ€, “golden ventureâ€, “modularâ€, “wet foldingâ€, “tessellationâ€, and even “dollar billâ€! (Who knew there were so many different types!?)This book also offers thorough advice on the many folds and techniques used for this skill. This book is a superb guide for beginners to learn Origami and at the same time for people who are already into origami to learn something new. The book has been written very well providing clear instructions on how to make something and is written in easy to understand language. The book simply tells you everything there is to know about origami.Overall, I highly recommend this book.
This book reminds me of my childhood. It was so much fun to start origami again. This book is well written and has valuable information in it. It pretty much takes you in a step by step process, first explain you all about the origami from basic and then it gets into the actual example of how to do it. Overall this book is well written and organised, I enjoyed it a lot.
Surreal...an origami book with no pictures or diagrams. Not even a picture of what you are supposedly folding. Nothing but narrative. This is the most pathetic and useless origami book ever published. It is totally worthless. I would not even rate it 1 star but can't go lower than 1 star. Don't waste your time even sampling the book.
How can a person learn this without pictures! Waste of time. Content was very interesting but ideas were hard to fathom.
